Fall Spritz Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

Almond Spritz Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp kosher sea salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • colored sanding sugar optional

Chocolate Spritz Cookies

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp kosher sea salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 2/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup special dark cocoa powder
  • chocolate sprinkles optional

Instructions

For the Almond Spritz Cookies

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Chill non-stick cookie sheet in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer or in a large mixing bowl with a hand mixer, beat the butter on medium for 2 minutes. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla, almond, and salt, beat for 2 additional minutes.
  • Add the egg, mix for 1 minute. Add the flour, mix just until combined.
  • Using a cookie press, press the dough onto the chilled cookie sheet, about 1 1/2 inches apart. Sprinkle with sanding sugar, if desired.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 6-7 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the Chocolate Spritz Cookies
