Ingredients
- Red Ripe Strawberries
- Ghirardelli White, Milk, or Dark Melting Wafers
Optional Garnishes:
- Sprinkles
- Chopped Nuts
- Crushed freeze-dried fruit
- Dried coconut
- Mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with wax paper, parchment paper, or a silicone baking mat.
- Wash the strawberries and pat them completely dry.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the desired melting wafers on half power for 30-second increments, stirring until smooth.
- Grab the strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate. Lift directly above the bowl and gently swirl the strawberry in circular motions to remove excess chocolate.
- Place on the prepared baking sheet. Garnish if desired, then let set until firm, about 5-10 minutes.
- If using contrasting chocolate, drizzle, then garnish if desired. Let set until firm, about 5-10 minutes.
- Serve immediately, package for gifting, use as a garnish, or store until needed.
Notes
To STORE Chocolate Covered Strawberries, place them in a single layer in an airtight container, separating each layer with wax paper to prevent sticking. These treats are best enjoyed within 24 hours to maintain their freshness and the desired texture.
If you dip them straight from the fridge, they'll sweat as they warm up, creating a messy situation. Remember, there's no need to refrigerate the chocolate-covered strawberries to set them, as they'll naturally harden over time at room temperature.
