5large sweet apples(Gala or Fuji), peeled and chopped or sliced into 1/4" thick pieces
1/4cuporange juice
1/2cupbrown sugar
1/2tspground cinnamon
1/4tspapple pie spice
1/8tspsalt
1tspvanilla extract
2tspcornstarch
1/4cupcold water
Instructions
Set a large skillet over medium heat and add butter. When the butter has melted, add the apples and cook for 5-8 minutes or until tender.
Add orange juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, apple pie spice, salt, and vanilla extract. Stir to combine.
In a small prep bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and 1/4 cup cold water to create a slurry. Pour into the apples and whisk to combine. Turn up the heat and bring to a boil. Simmer until the mixture thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

You can mix them into oatmeal, top pancakes or waffles with them, make a yogurt parfait, or eat them with ice cream!STORE Cinnamon Apples leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freezing is not recommended, as the apples may lose their texture.To REHEAT, warm them on the stovetop over low heat or in the microwave until heated through.
