This Turkey Gravy recipe is a rich, savory sauce made from pan drippings, broth, and seasonings that adds comforting flavor to roasted turkey and all the classic holiday sides.
4c.chicken broth and/or turkey drippingsfat removed from drippings
1tsp.kosher sea saltmore to taste
1/4tsp.ground black pepper
Instructions
Set a small saucepan over medium heat, and add butter. Once the butter has melted, add the flour and whisk until it turns light golden brown in color.
Slowly pour in the broth, whisking continuously until the gravy becomes smooth and thick.
Add salt and pepper, bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until it reaches the desired consistency (just note that it will thicken as it cools).
Serve immediately.
Notes
STORE Turkey Gravy in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To FREEZE, pour the cooled gravy into a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 4 months.To REHEAT, thaw in the refrigerator overnight if frozen, then warm it on the stovetop over low heat, stirring occasionally. You can also reheat it in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until hot.
