1/2cupnutsfinely chopped pecans, walnuts, or almonds
Instructions
In a medium-sized mixing bowl (or in the bowl of a stand mixer), mix the cream cheese and seasonings until smooth. Sprinkle in the cheddar cheese and mix until just combined.
Roll the mixture into a round ball (you can lightly coat your hands with cooking spray if that makes it easier, but because the ball is cold, it shouldn't be too much of an issue).
Place the chopped nuts into a standard-sized bowl and roll to cover the ball entirely. You may need to pat some of the nuts into areas that aren't covered. Cover the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
-Green onions are for garnish and are not included in the recipe.-Feel free to add freshly minced dill to the cheese ball, chopped bacon, or even nuts inside! To STORE the Classic Cheese Ball, keep it in the refrigerator before and after serving, ensuring it doesn't sit at room temperature for more than 2 hours. Store it in an airtight container in the fridge, and it will last for up to 2 weeks if fresh ingredients are used. You can FREEZE it by forming the cheese ball, wrapping it tightly in plastic wrap twice, and placing it in an airtight bag. Freeze without the nuts, as they can get soggy after thawing. They can be frozen for up to a month. To SERVE, thaw it in the fridge overnight, then roll in crushed nuts before serving.
