Our family took a quick pitstop in Florida before we moved on up to the D.C. area, and boy was it hot & humid there! We spent most of our days in the pool trying to beat the heat. The kids and I were on the hunt for an easy no-bake treat and this s’mores muddy buddy mix was the perfect sweet snack! It only requires a few ingredients and can be whipped up in just 15 minutes!

You’ll need Chex cereal, Golden Graham cereal, graham crackers, chocolate chips, Nutella or peanut butter, mini marshmallows, and powdered sugar. Simple enough, right? For this particular batch of muddy buddies I used Nutella, but you could use another chocolate spread if you happen to have one on hand. If you want to get extra fancy, instead of adding additional chocolate chips to the mix, you can toss in a handful or two of Hershey’s drops… it’s totally up to you!

Toss everything together in a BIG bowl and serve it up poolside or on your next camping trip! This is such a fun, tasty treat that kids and adults will love- trust me!

  1. I am confused with your directions. In step 2 you state to stir the mini marshmallows into the melted chocolate mixture but then in step 4 you state to add the mini marshmallows to the bowl – which is it? Was there supposed to be 2 measurements of the mini marshmallows and you add some in both steps? Do you divide the amount listed and add some in each step? From the picture it looks like they are all added in step 4, unless they are to be melted into the chocolate mixture in step 2.

    1. So the directions in step 2 are correct. You will melt the chocolate chips with the Nutella, then add the mini marshmallows and cereal and coat with the chocolate mixture. After that, you’ll add it to a bag and shake with the powdered sugar. Then in a clean bowl, you can add additional Golden Grahams, graham cracker chunks, mini marshmallows and/or chocolate chips (to your liking). You will then add the muddy buddy mixture to those add ins and toss together. Hopefully that makes a bit more sense.
