This Spaghetti with Lemon Cream Sauce recipe is a simple yet elegant pasta dish that feels fresh, creamy, and comforting all at once. The bright lemon flavor balances the richness of the cream, creating a silky sauce that coats each strand of spaghetti beautifully.

Heavy Cream – A creamy base for the lemon sauce that pairs beautifully with the pasta.

Lemon Juice – A bright and zesty flavor that enhances this pasta recipe.

How to Make Spaghetti with Lemon Cream Sauce

Step 1: In a large pot over medium high heat, boil your pasta to al dente according to package directions. Reserve at least ½ cup of pasta water before draining. Set aside.

Step 2: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 3: Add the garlic to the pan and cook for 30 seconds.

Step 4: Turn the heat down, add in the heavy cream and bring to a very gentle simmer.

Step 5: Next, add the parmesan cheese and whisk until it has melted smoothly into the sauce.

Step 6: Next add ¼ cup of the reserve pasta water along with the black pepper and mix in well. Let it thicken for a couple of minutes.

Step 7: Next add the lemon juice into the sauce and mix together.

Step 8: Next add the pasta and toss well to coat. Let the pasta cook for another 1-2 minutes in the sauce. Add additional pasta water if needed.

Step 9: Finally serve and top with parmesan cheese, lemon zest, and black pepper and enjoy!

Can I use butter instead of olive oil for my sauce?

Yes! You can use salted or unsalted butter instead of olive oil to make the sauce if you prefer.

Do I have to use spaghetti as my pasta for this recipe?

No! You can use any pasta you prefer for this recipe!

Storage Information

You can store any leftovers of this creamy lemon pasta in an airtight container in your fridge for 3-4 days. To reheat you can do so on the stovetop on low heat with a splash of water or cream or in the microwave until everything has warmed through.

With the dairy products in this recipes I do not recommend freezing it.
