With the holidays fast approaching, I’ve been stocking up our pantry with all sorts of baking supplies. Unfortunately I haven’t been the best at keeping things organized. I can’t even count the number of times that I’ve gone to grab something and everything comes tumbling down. It’s more than I’d like to admit. Cupcakes have been ruined, ingredients have been spilt. It’s a mess. My husband likes to refer to my baking cupboard as “the rat’s nest.” Lovely, huh? So when I found out that I was selected for the OXO #POPtober Challenge to reorganize my kitchen I was pretty darn excited!!!
I’m a huge fan of OXO products… I use them in my kitchen all of the time! I love how durable and well made they are. The OXO POP containers are just that: extremely sturdy, BPA-free, air-tight and stackable. Coming from a person who constantly has a million things going at once and usually one messy hand, I love that you can open and close these containers with one finger. You simply push the circle in the center of the lid to open and close the container. Super easy and really convenient! I also like that they have flat lids, because stacking = more space! And who doesn’t want more space in their pantry & cupboards?!
Back to my baking cupboard chaos… I needed containers that would fit all of my dry ingredients in them. I’m sure I’m not the only one storing powdered sugar in a plastic bag. Not only is it messy, but it’s really inconvenient! Anyway, I had 3 types of flour, 7 types of sugar, 4 types of grains, and a whole lot of nuts, chips and candies. Guess what? I found a place for all of them! With a wide variety of shapes and sizes, I was able to easily store everything I wanted to in my POP containers. Plus air-tight storage means fresher/longer lasting ingredients and no bugs! POP containers for the win!
After just 15 minutes of cleaning and organizing, I’m happy to say that the rat’s nest is no longer! Everything is neatly arranged and has it’s own container. I love that I can easily see where things are and that I don’t have to guess if I have a certain ingredients. This is going to make baking a breeze! Challenge complete 🙂
