These Dark Chocolate Cookies are rich, fudgy treats with a deep cocoa flavor, soft, chewy centers, and crisp edges. Their intense chocolate taste gives them a more decadent flavor than traditional cookies, while still being sweet enough to satisfy any chocolate craving.

How to Make Dark Chocolate Cookies

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats and set aside.

Step 2: In a large bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or using an electric mixer, add the softened butter and sugars and beat until soft and fluffy.

Step 3: Next, add the eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.

Step 4: Then, add the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt and stir until a dough forms.

Step 5: Add 2 cups of chocolate chunks and using a spatula, fold them into the cookie dough.

Step 6: Next, using a 1 Tbsp size cookie scoop, scoop cookie dough balls and place them onto the prepared baking sheets.

Step 7: Then, use the extra ½ cup of chocolate chunks and place chocolate chunks all over the top of the cookie dough balls.

Step 8: Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes until done then set aside to cool.

FAQs

What other chocolate chips can I use for these dark chocolate cookies?

I use semi-sweet chocolate chunks however you can use any chocolate you prefer. Some I would recommend would be dark chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, or even chopped chocolate.

Can I add other mix-ins to my dark chocolate cookies?

Of course! Walnuts, pecans, caramel pieces, dried cherries, or even a sprinkle of flaky sea salt pair especially well with dark chocolate.

Storage Information

You can store any leftovers of these dark chocolate chip cookies in an airtight container on your counter at room temperature for 4-5 days. For longer storage you can store them in your fridge for up to 1 week or freeze them in your freezer for up to 3 months.
