How to Make Marry Me Chicken Pasta

Step 1: Cook the pasta according to the package directions until it reaches al dente. Then drain the pasta and set it aside.

Step 2: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

Step 3: In a large skillet or Dutch oven heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 6-8 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 4: Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.

Step 5: Then, using the same skillet lower to medium heat and add in the butter, once it has melted add in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

Step 6: Next, add the flour to make a paste.

Step 7: From there, whisk in the chicken broth, heavy cream, and parmesan cheese.

Step 8: Stir in the sun-dried tomatoes, paprika, and Italian seasoning.

Step 9: Simmer the sauce for a few minutes to thicken.

Step 10: Next add the cooked pasta and coat it in the sauce.

Do I have to use Chicken Breasts in this Marry Me Pasta?

No. You can use Chicken Thighs if you prefer, or for other protein substitutions you can also use shrimp, beef, or even tofu.

What other flavors and spices can I add into this pasta?

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 10 oz penne pasta

For the Sauce

  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp garlic - minced
  • 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup sun dried tomatoes - drained
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Fresh basil - optional garnish
