Monster Munch Variations

Colored Candy Melts – Add more color with purple, orange, red or green candy melts!

Popcorn – You can use any kind of popcorn you want – butter, white, kettle, caramel or cheese popcorn or even a mix of popcorns for additional flavors. We used microwave popcorn, but you can cook popcorn in a popcorn maker, over the stovetop or buy ready to go popcorn in a bag from the store.

M&Ms – We used Plain Halloween M&Ms, but you could use Peanut Halloween M&Ms instead or a mix of both.

Reese’s Pieces – Add in some peanut butter flavor with these candies.

Cereal – You can use any cereal that you like. We used Corn Chex, but you could use Rice Chex or Honey Nut Chex. We also used plain Cheerios, but you can use Honey Nut Cheerios or any other Cheerios flavor.

Candy Corn – You can use the original candy corn, the chocolate version, candy pumpkins or all three together!

Other Candy – You can also use other candy to add into this mix as you like. How about mini Reese’s cups, gummy worms or malt balls?

How to Make Monster Munch

Step 1: Combine all ingredients except the white candy melts into a large bowl and mix them up. At this point, you can be done if you like, but we like to add a white candy melts coating.

Step 2: Setup two baking sheets with a piece of wax paper or parchment paper in each of them.

Step 3: Melt the white candy melts according to the package directions.

Step 4: Pour the candy melts over the mix in the large bowl and use a large spoon to toss to coat all of the mix. The candy melts can be hot, so be careful and use pot holders or oven mitts as needed.

You can go light or heavy with the coating depending on how sweet of a mix you want. We use 1 ½ cups of the candy melts, which is pretty sweet, so use a little less if you want it a little less sweet.
