I’m sure you’ve been wondering where in the world I’ve been! We spent the last few weeks organizing, cleaning, and getting rid of all sorts of things in our house. In preparation for our move across the country, I worked like crazy to get recipes photographed so that I wouldn’t get behind (especially with baby #3 on the way this fall)! But of course, things happened and I’ve been a total slacker. Ok, not really, but we’ve just been soooo busy. We finally made it to Florida for our 3 week detour before we head up to Virginia. I’ve been catching up on all sorts of blog-related business including writing new posts. YAY!

Shall we talk about this INSANELY good garlic bread now? To be honest, I’ve never been a super big fan of homemade garlic bread. I know, I’m crazy. It’s always been kind of bland. Grabbing a freshly buttered loaf at our local grocery store’s bakery was my thing… until now. I decided it was time to tackle the classic Italian side.

est Ever Cheesy Garlic Bread - One loaf makes two big pieces of toasty, cheesy & buttery bread. Goes great with soup, salad and pasta!

Here’s how to make it:

  1. Grab two extra large pieces of aluminum foil and cut the loaf in half lengthwise. Place one half on each piece of foil
  2. Mix up the buttery garlic herb mixture and drizzle it over the bread.
  3. Wrap the bread up in foil and bake it for a good 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
  4. Remove the bread from the oven, open the foil up and sprinkle with a generous amount of mozzarella and parmesan cheese. If you like it extra cheesy, I’d suggest using a three cheese blend of sorts.
  5. Place it back in the oven and let it bake until the cheese gets melty and the edges are golden brownRemove and sprinkle with more cheese and parsley.

Super simple, yet so delicious! This recipe is really easy to throw together while your main dish is cooking or can be prepped in advance and heated when needed. It goes great with just about anything, although we love it with lasagna and soup! If you’re looking for a great garlic bread recipe, this is it!

Best Ever Cheesy Garlic Bread

Best ever cheesy garlic bread is loaded with a buttery garlic spread and topped with lots of cheese! It’s the perfect side dish or party appetizer!

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) salted butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher sea salt
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 c. finely shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp. finely chopped fresh parsley OR 1 tsp. dried parsley flakes

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Using a large bread knife, slice the bread in half lengthwise. Cut two sheets of foil about 24-inch long and place on a baking sheet, side by side. Place the bread on top of the foil.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, using a spatula, mix the butter, olive oil, garlic, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt together until smooth and creamy. Spread the mixture over both bread halves. Wrap the foil over the sides of the bread and crimp, then roll up the ends of the foil. Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from the oven, open the foil and roll down around the edges of the garlic bread. Sprinkle with half of the parmesan, then all of the mozzarella, finish with the remaining parmesan.
  5. Return to the oven and bake uncovered for 6 minutes or until the cheese is melty and it begins to brown. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with additional parmesan (if desired) and parsley. Slice and serve immediately.
  • You can make this in advance and store it in your refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • You can keep the bread warm by re-wrapping it after it is fully baked, and keeping it in the oven at 200 degrees for up to 30 minutes.
