Freshly Squeezed!

It’s been forever since I’ve made homemade lemonade. So I thought it was time to pull out one of my favorite kitchen gadgets – my handheld lemon juicer/press. It’s squeezes every last drop out of any citrus you put in it. I love it!

This raspberry lemonade uses both fresh raspberry puree and freshly squeezed lemon juice with the addition of some sugar. I use a special trick to make sure this lemonade is nice and smooth—no grainy sugar granules in this drink!

Pour the lemonade into glasses and serve with fresh raspberries, lemon slices, mint and ice for an extra fancy presentation. You can’t go wrong with a glass of this refreshing drink!

How to Make Raspberry Lemonade

PUREE. Place raspberries in a food processor and pulse until well pureed. Pour the raspberry puree through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl; set aside.

DISSOLVE. Pour 1 cup of water into a medium-size saucepan over medium-high heat, then stir in the sugar. Continue cooking over heat until sugar is dissolved and liquid turns from cloudy to clear again.

MIX & CHILL. Remove from the stovetop pour into a large pitcher or jug. Allow to cool for 15 minutes before stirring in the puree, remaining water and lemon juice, stir to combine. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve with fresh raspberries, lemon slices, mint and ice.

Recipe Tips

  • To tell if raspberries are ripe, they will be bright in color, round and full in shape, and they will look uniform.
  • Start with 6 medium sized lemons. If you want an overall sweeter taste consider using Meyer lemons as they are naturally sweeter than typical lemons.
  • To make lemonade sweeter dilute by adding more water. If it is still too tart add more sugar.

How to Store

STORE this in a pitcher in the fridge for about a week.

To make this lemonade a FROZEN lemonade, pour some of the lemonade into an ice cube tray and wait till it’s solidified. Then you can put a cup or two of ice cubes in a blender and pour the lemonade into it. Add more ice until you reach your desired consistency.

  1. This drink is just GORGEOUS Natalie! Raspberries are my favorite, and I’ve been wanting to try a raspberry lemonade, so I can’t wait to try this one. Perfect for the hot weather we’ve been having!

    1. You’ll add about 3/4 cups of puree. 10 oz of fresh raspberries yields about 2 1/4 cups. 1/2 cup of pureed raspberries yield about 3 Tbsp. So, you’d use about 12 Tbsp. which is 3/4 cup to 1 cup of the puree.
