Why We Love This Green Smoothie
- A fun and tasty way to sneak greens into your kids’ diet.
- This healthy smoothie is both nourishing and packed with fruits, veggies, and essential nutrients.
- Provides a natural energy lift, making it great for breakfast or post-workout.
Recipe Ingredients

Spinach – Fresh spinach works best, but frozen can be used too. A cup of spinach adds nutrients to your Green Monster Juice.
Kiwi – It brings a tart, slightly sweet flavor. You can peel it or leave the skin on for extra fiber if using a high-powered blender.
Banana – Ripe banana adds natural sweetness and enhances the creamy texture of the smoothie.
For a full list of ingredients and amounts, see the recipe card below.
Variations
Green Power Boost – Include kale, Swiss chard, parsley, romaine lettuce, or celery leaves to pack your smoothie with antioxidants, collagen benefits, and immunity support.
Incorporate Protein – For a more filling smoothie, consider adding a scoop of protein powder or a tablespoon of nut butter.
How to Make Green Monster Smoothie
Step 1: Place all ingredients in the bowl of a blender, starting with the spinach and layering the heaviest ingredients, like ice or frozen fruits, on top.
Step 2: Blend on high until smooth, about 2 minutes.

FAQs
Yes, replace yogurt with almond milk, coconut milk, or a plant-based yogurt alternative. Adjust the liquid amount based on your desired consistency, as non-dairy options can vary in thickness.
If you prefer a sweeter taste, try natural sweeteners like honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar. Start with a small amount, blend, and adjust to your desired sweetness level.
Storage Information
To STORE your Green Monster Smoothie, pour it into an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. For longer storage, FREEZE the smoothie in a freezer-safe container for up to three months.
Before consuming, thaw it in the refrigerator overnight. Since smoothies can separate over time, give it a good shake or stir before drinking to restore its consistency.

Green Monster Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup spinach
- 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
- 1/2 mango
- 1 kiwi
- 1/2 Granny Smith apple
- 1/2 medium banana
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup ice
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in the bowl of a blender, starting with the spinach and layering the heaviest ingredients, like ice or frozen fruits, on top.
- Blend on high until smooth, about 2 minutes.
NOTES
- To plan ahead, prepare fruits and divide them between freezer-safe bags, then place them in the freezer. That way, you have little portions all ready to go when you need them, and you can use the other halves of certain fruits!
- I skipped adding sweeteners, but you can use sugar, agave, or honey if you prefer a sweeter smoothie.
- I used pineapple Greek yogurt in my smoothie, which gave it slightly more flavor.
